Corporations play states and cities against each other to win millions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies that total $50 billion a year for the promise of bringing jobs to their communities.
Unfortunately, many of the promised “jobs” are not new, and the jobs that are created are often low paying with policies that suppress worker’s rights and lead to high turnover rates.
Join us as we hear from a panel of experts including Good Jobs First Executive Director Greg LeRoy. We will also hear testimony from workers who are employed in positions created by these subsidies, and explore real ways to create good jobs.
