The US Supreme Court has agreed to settle the battle over gay marriage once and for all. And they’ll do it by summer. From SCOTUS Blog:
The Court said it would rule on state power to ban gay and lesbian marriage and state power to refuse to recognize such marriages performed out of state… As of now, same-sex marriages are allowed in thirty-six states, with bans remaining in the other fourteen but under court challenge.
The hearing will take place in the Court’s April session, setting up a decision schedule for June.
