I Am Still In – Stand with 194 Countries and Resist President Trump

On June 1st, President Trump announced the United States would withdraw from the Paris Agreement on climate change.

This decision threatens our security, our public health and welfare, our economic prosperity, and our clean energy industry, which supports millions of U.S. jobs. It threatens the air we breathe and the water we drink. It threatens our ecosystems and disproportionately affects the most vulnerable people on our planet.

Withdrawing from the Paris Agreement does not represent the will of the American people.

There is something you can do.

Governors, mayors, businesses, investors, and universities across the country have started collaborating as never before to work toward the goals of the Paris Agreement. They’re still in, and we are too.

In January of this year, our State Senator Tom Udall questioned now U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson about the importance of the Paris Agreement, and President Trump’s plans to withdraw from said agreement. He has since made this dire decision a reality.

With talks by PNM here in New Mexico, and their decision to move toward closing their San Juan Coal Plant earlier this year, it is easy to see that climate change, preservation of natural resources, and the maintenance and protection of our public lands are all important to our state leaders and their constituents. It is sad however that we do not have an American President who follows the will and wishes of the American People. We are thankful here in New Mexico for Senators Udall and Heinrich as they continually resist the Trump Administration at every dangerous turn.

We are asking you to join us and a whole host of organizations around the country as we stand in opposition – build a resistance – and push back by saying #IAMSTILLIN.
