Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke will be touring areas around the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument later this week. It’s all part of his Trump-based agenda to “review” national monuments across the west that were created with the Antiquities Act. These important landmarks contain countless historical, scientific, and recreational resources for all Americans to enjoy and study while preserving our important past.
New Mexicans like you have been working TIRELESSLY to tell our stories any way we can to make sure those in Washington know how important it is to have national monuments that protect our public lands. Earlier this month, ProgressNow New Mexico submitted over 1,300 comments from readers IN SUPPORT of Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks and Rio Grande del Norte National Monuments. This was in addition to nearly 100,000 comments from people ALL ACROSS the US who know how important national monuments are in the west.
Please join with hundreds of fellow land protectors in Las Cruces this Thursday as we show Sec. Zinke just how much we care about preserving our National Monuments.
