An event every week that begins at 8:00am on Saturday, repeating until December 2, 2017
We’re excited to announce the Fall 2017 line up of our Saturday morning guided history outings. Nature lovers from across the region are invited to participate in yoga at White Sands, discover numerous trackways and footprints left by prehistoric creatures, learn about medicinal flora in the Organ Mountains, walk among the late-blooming wildflowers, learn about the ecological impact of the border fence, explore a little known slot canyon and a cave. The hikes are designed to showcase some of the unique natural features of the Las Cruces/El Paso area. Informative, family friendly, and not too strenuous, most of the trips will have you back to your car by noon.
Featuring a mix of the new and familiar, the Fall 2017 lineup includes the following trips:
All trips are open to the public. Some outings require additional parking fees. Advanced reservations are required. Participants may register three weeks in advance of each outing. Space is limited, and half of the available slots for each trip are reserved for members of the Southwest Environmental Center. Be sure to bring sturdy shoes, water, sunscreen and a hat.
