Here’s a list of local businesses and food banks/resources offering free food during the federal SNAP shutdown

For New Mexicans, food is more than a meal, it’s dignity. That’s why when wealthy corporations and billionaires continue to raise grocery prices without raising wages, we show up to provide for each other.

Now, 450,000 people in NM who rely on SNAP food benefits to buy groceries are at risk. Trump and Republicans refuse to compromise on healthcare, pushing instead to double premium costs for millions of Americans. They could end the government shutdown today, yet, instead they are choosing to hold our food and healthcare hostage.

In New Mexico, we take care of our own — and we’re glad to see local businesses and community partners springing into action. Among those showing up to respond to this crisis is the Roadrunner Food Bank They are doing some major heavy lifting and are seeking donations and volunteers. Now is the time for us to work together to make sure that our families, communities and neighbors get fed.

Here is a list of restaurants, food banks, and community resources working to keep our kids and families from going hungry.
