If a squeaky tank and a guy holding up a drone like a paper airplane doesn’t create a swell of patriotic pride in your chest, we get it.
Over the weekend, thousands of New Mexicans skipped a partisan and poorly planned military parade in Washington, D.C. in favor of joining dozens of #NoKings rallies across the state, part of 2,000+ events taking place nationwide.
While massive crowds filled the streets of Philadelphia, San Diego, New York, and Chicago, protestors in smaller cities/towns were even more impressive, including here in NM, where places like Las Cruces, Gallup, and Taos saw 1,000 to 3,000 people attend.
Recent polls show that the Trump regime continues to lose support. Just 38 percent of Americans nationwide say they approve of the job Trump is doing, while 54 percent disapprove.
Tops on the list for New Mexicans is opposition to Trump and the Republican’s extreme Project 2025 agenda. They have proposed massive cuts to tools like Medicaid and SNAP as well as drastic reductions in healthcare and education.
Polls also show Trump losing support from Latino/Hispanic voters for his obsession with mass deportation, even as ICE continues to rip New Mexican families apart without any evidence of wrongdoing.
