Did you know drilling Oil uses drinking water?
- Fracking is the process of blasting BILLIONS of gallons of New Mexico’s drinking water into the ground. So-called “produced water” isn’t even water! It’s just toxic oil and gas waste that spews out into our soil in the process.
Did you know a third of residents of the Navajo Nation lack access to clean, running water?
- New Mexico has one of the last remaining free-flowing rivers in the country– while nearly last for water quality and basic access to clean water. That means communities close to oil and gas sites have the least access to clean drinking water.
What about stream access?
- Access to water on public and private land in New Mexico is a major issue that trickles into the water that is used for recreational rafting and even fishing.
Are NM rivers drying up?
