ProgressNow New Mexico is excited to announce that we are hiring our next round of interns!

We are a communications hub who centers justice for systematically-excluded communities by building political power through partnerships, trusted digital communications, and issue-based and political campaigns in New Mexico. 

We are hiring for two PAID internship positions:

Digital Advocacy Fellow (remote, digital)

Reproductive Justice Ambassador (remote, field)

Digital Advocacy Fellow Application

We are looking for a committed person who is passionate about reproductive rights, health and justice organizing in digital spaces to fight misinformation and disinformation across social media platforms on behalf of ProgressNow New Mexico. The Digital Advocacy Fellow will assist in our daily work that includes, but is not limited to, issue-based community education, civic engagement initiatives, and campaigns–all with a reproductive justice lens. 

**This is a remote position.

** $15/hour

RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Able to commit 15-20 hours per week with occasional evening and weekend availability for possible “fire fighting” internet monitoring.
  • Assist in the execution of rapid response social media.
  • Monitoring social media channels, looking for bots and people who spread mis/dis-information and correcting it with tested messages.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of ProgressNow’s digital organizing program including recruiting, onboarding, and supporting volunteers to use the Megaphone app.
  • Staying up to date with correct information on local issues such as ordinances or school board decisions involving reproductive health care and LGBTQ+ rights
  • Help launch and maintain buzz on civic engagement initiatives, campaigns and other happenings around the state.
  • Meet with ProgressNow NM staff members virtually on a weekly basis to report findings.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates are comfortable in recognizing mis/dis information and  can easily navigate social media platforms to utilize them as powerful tools in addressing and debunking misinformation. Ability to work both independently, as well as collegially and collaboratively, online as part of a team is a must as this position is remote.

Experience in digital, organizing, or mobilization, political organization, or campaign is a plus. Bilingual applicants (in Spanish or Indigenous languages) will be given priority.

Reproductive Justice Ambassador

We’re looking for motivated youth interested in organizing for reproductive health, rights, and justice. Ambassadors will build local relationships with other activists while working to organize community members from online to offline organizing and offline to online organizing. This position will work primarily in person in your community. 

**This is a field organizing position

**$15/hour 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Able to commit 15-20 hours per week occasional evening and weekend availability for event opportunities.
  • Recruit and inspire local community members to take action on repro-based issues.
  • Help launch and maintain buzz on repro-specific events or tabling opportunities around the state and online.
  • Host weekly meetings on reproductive health, rights and justice. 
  • Work with local organizations to strengthen community work both in person and online through social channels.
  • Meet with ProgressNow NM staff members virtually, on a weekly basis to report on organization progress.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to reproductive justice work in communities of color, public interest and/or youth issues. We’re looking for inspired, goal-driven and results-oriented individuals who demonstrate a commitment to reproductive justice and youth empowerment.
