Trump’s rhetoric at his rally in New Mexico today is exactly what we expected, a speech filled with hate, lies, and distractions. From confirming that he will implement the mass deportations laid out in Project 2025, to exploiting New Mexico’s oil and gas resources until we have no clean air, land, or water left, to his open admission that the only reason he came here was to use our Latino/Hispanic communities as a campaign prop, his intentions are clear: create division and hate for political and personal gain.
Let’s be clear – Trump and his MAGA followers do not represent New Mexican values.
They are a loud but small group who do not represent what we all hold dear: the freedom to make our own decisions with our families, respect and appreciation for New Mexico’s diverse cultures and traditions, and a commitment to equal opportunities in our workplaces, schools, and public spaces.
As a community, it is critical that we continue to stand firm against fear mongering and political opportunism. As we move through early voting and into Election Day, we urge our fellow New Mexicans to use your voice and vote to speak out against Trump’s hate.
New Mexico is a place of tremendous diversity, where we value and celebrate our land and people. Now is the time to show the power of our community. Vote to ensure that New Mexico’s future is defined by unity, inclusivity, and respect for all.
