Thousands of New Mexicans attended rallies across the state over the weekend, joining the 5,000,000+ Americans who took part in Saturday’s Hands Off! National Day of Action.
Speakers and signs at protests in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Taos, and Las Cruces reflected the growing frustration and anger with the administration’s reckless decisions.
From devastating layoffs and budget cuts to attacks on human rights and free speech, people broadly disapprove of the divisive rhetoric and actions of the Trump/Musk regime.
Recent polls show that 53% of Americans disapprove of Donald Trump’s performance – 11 points worse than just a few months ago.
The protests come at a critical time, as opposition to Trump and the Republican’s extreme Project 2025 agenda gains momentum, and the US moves closer to meeting the 3.5% rule, a threshold that often sparks major political change. In New Mexico, that means mobilizing 74,550 people – a number well within reach.
Below are a few photos from rallies across the state. Their signs, stories, and determination are a testament to the power of unity.
